At Cabrini she is known as an adjunct Faculty, who teaches dance elective courses. Tricia Crouse received this job because of a friend who heard about the opening and recommended her.

Crouse is in Cabrini’s Masters of education program and attended Temple University for her B.F.A. in dance. She started dance when she was two at Touch of Class Dance Studio. She is 26 now so she has been dancing for a long time. She grew up training in all of the dance techniques and has competed in national competitions throughout her teen years.

She received her B.F.A. in Dance from Temple University in 2011, with specializations in modern, ballet, performance and choreography.  In 2012 she joined the Philadelphia Spinners dance team, where she have been the captain for the past two seasons.

She dances for the Philadelphia Spinners dance team and has been on the team for three seasons. She has been the captain for the past two years now. She is also their director of events and entertainment this season so she will be working not only with the pro team but directing the junior team as well.

She also teaches dance at Movements in Motion Dance Studio in Havertown, Pa, she has taught and choreographed around the Philadelphia area for nine years now. In 2013, she was featured as one of Philly’s top ten young choreographers.  She has worked in various schools and studios in Philadelphia, teaching and choreographing for competition teams.

She taught from a young age “To be great you have to put in the time and hard work to accomplish anything in dance, which is an ideal, I try to teach every student that comes into my class,” said Crouse.

Her main role at Cabrini is to develop the curriculum for the dance electives and teach the classes, according to Crouse.

“I’ve enjoyed my time at Cabrini, I get to meet students from all different dance backgrounds from tons of experience to none at all.  It makes every class enjoyable to watch students grow and learn how to dance,” Crouse said.

This semester at Cabrini is the first time they have offered a hip hop/jazz class.  After meeting students in the modern and ballet classes Crouse, thought Cabrini could use a hip hop class.  She said

“It is fun, upbeat and most of the students listen to the music every day so they could find a connection with the movement”. Next semester we will have two dance electives in the Dixon Center. Modern dance will be Mondays 3:15-4:30 p.m. and hip hop/jazz will be Tuesdays 3:15-4:30 p.m.
