Bio-terrorism improbable on domestic soil

With U. S. soldiers at war, and fighting persisting on the other side of the world, the question of whether or not American civilians are safe arises. The concept of bio-terrorism is not as prevalent as it was during the time of 9/11, but it is still a concern among all citizens.

“I think that bio-terrorism is a real threat. It’s important that we are fighting because who knows what type of biological agent is being developed. It’s scary to think that biologists and chemists are developing agents to destroy people,” junior Dolores Tournambe said.

However, it is hard to determine whether or not there would be any biological or chemical weapons used in the war. They may be produced secretly or under a lot of supervision.

“After the anthrax scare, it is more difficult to purchase bacteria. They are not shipped out unless you have a credible mailing address or unless you’re a group of trained people that are granted permission to have access to any form of biological substance,” Dr. Sheryl
