Ten-year-old, Erica Feulner, dangles her feet in the back seat of her mother's Honda Accord singing along to the 88.5 radio show, "Kids Corner." "I'm on an Internet...radio, I'm on an Internet...woohoo...radio." This childlike variation of the popular '80s song, originally performed by Wall of Voodoo, is an updated spoof on technological advancement.

Winter car survival: is your car ready?

As the season shifts into full fall-mode, now is the time to take precautionary measures to ensure automobiles makes it through the tough winter months. Cold weather can be disastrous to even the newest of cars and snow and ice can cause unforeseen pitfalls.

‘No better time to be alive’

The man to my left is well dressed, down to the out-turned lip on his Lugz boots. His yellow t-shirt and up-turned hat put off the impression he is stylish, but the dirt that has worn its way into his clothes gives quite another impression. I imagine that he did not plan for this to be the last outfit he put on that particular morning, months ago, and now it is caked with the dirt of the street and the exhaust of a world revolving around everything but him.

A marinade of Halloween events are already underway in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. The remainder of October is jam pact with terrifyingly fun events to kick off Halloween. So why wait till Trick-or-treat night trying to convince suspecting home-owners that you are only in the seventh-grade, because these events are made just for you.

Cabrini opens Norristown student learning center

Cabrini College is developing a new approach to Service Learning with the opening of the Cabrini Classroom at Norristown; located on Church street in Norristown the center hopes to be a hub for current service projects and projects to come by Nov. 1. Coordinator of Service Learning Resources, David Chiles, hopes this concentrated focus on the Norristown area will strengthen the relationships between the college and this struggling community.

Musicians, artists, writers, journalists, filmmakers, scientists and students across the country are discovering Creative Commons licenses to maintain creative identity while having their work spread freely across the Internet. Creative Commons is an alternative to copyright, in which creative people make their work free, and completely legal, to copy.

Students share interests at Involvement Fair

Students came to see the monkeys but they stayed to get involved. Last Thursday's Involvement Fair featured a record number of student organizations, in the carnival like confines of Grace Hall. As if getting involved wasn't enough, an outside entertainment company, Entertaining Ideas, brought with them everything from snow cones to monkey's in an effort to spur student participation.

The Politics of Sex:

If you are one who criticizes others for their sexual identity, you have every right to your opinion. But, let me point out...it is just an opinion, and does not prevent other individuals from choosing the sexual identity that so pleases them. Legislation is already turning in 25 states to ban gay marriages.

The impact of Clear Channel is being felt in Philadelphia. Aside from the media conglomerates 1,182 radio stations nation wide, the companies purchase of SFX National Concert Network, for 4.4 million dollars, has lead Clear Channel to pursue independent promotions companies and local venues throughout 16 major U.
