Over Christmas break, the Cabrini men's basketball team traveled to Marymount University in Virginia on Jan. 3 and 4 to compete in the Marymount University Comcast Challenge. In the first round, the team played Mount St. Mary's College out of New York and defeated them, 83-64.

Women’s basketball splits tournament

The Cabrini women's basketball team opened up their season with a tournament at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. on the weekend of Nov. 22. The team lost their first game against The University of Scranton Royals, but bounced back to win the consolation game and defeat The Washington & Lee University Generals.

Men’s soccer captures CSAC crown

team captured its first conference title in nine years when they defeated Neumann College this past Saturday, Nov. 8. The Cavaliers defeated the Knights 2-0 which brings them to an overall record of 15-3-2. The Cavs had earned the right to a home championship game by receiving the number one seed for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs.

Men’s soccer dominates Centenary College

The Cabrini men's soccer team opened up conference play with a 5-2 win over the Centenary College Cyclones, Saturday Oct. 4. This brings the Cavaliers to an overall record of 6-2-2. Senior forward Mike McDevitt started the scoring early for the Cavaliers by netting a goal five minutes from the start of the game.

Lady Cavaliers get a lesson in futbol

Traveling to another country was not something that seemed possible for the Cabrini women's soccer team. There was always talk about possibly doing a trip somewhere during summer 2008, but they knew it would be an immense amount of work and planning. With miraculous fund raising over the past year, they made a dream become a reality.

Cavalier lacrosse camp returns for second year

The Cavalier lacrosse school will be held for its second year here this summer. It will be directed by the head men's coach Steve Colfer, the head women's coach Jackie Neary and Bobbi Morgan, the head women's basketball coach at Cabrini. The camp is open to male and female players entering grades 3-9.

Women’s soccer gets an early start

The Cabrini women's soccer team outscored their opponents 5-3 in their tournament at Lebanon Valley College on Sunday, April 20. They walked away from the day with a record of 1-1-2. The team played four strong teams including University of Scranton, Montclair State University, Lebanon Valley College and Muhlenberg College.

Sandefur looks to improve in future play

The Cabrini women's softball team is currently in fifth place in the Pennsylvania athletic conference. With an overall young team, the few upper classmen are taking on the leadership roles to guide them through the season. One of these upper classmen is junior psychology major, Kristie Sandefur, which makes her a perfect pick for this week's player profile.

Forget the gym; go outside and exercise

As I'm walking back from my 3 o'clock class, I can hardly contain my excitement. It's finally springtime and the temperature outside is getting much warmer and the weather is much nicer. Men’s lacrosse defeats Alvernia, Shenandoah

The # 9-ranked Cabrini men's lacrosse team outscored their opponents 47-10 last week with wins over the Shenandoah University hornets on Tuesday, April 1 and the Alvernia College crusaders on Saturday April 5. These two wins bring the cavalier's conference record to 4-0 and an overall record of 8-2.

Lady Cavs win 4th straight PAC title

The Cabrini women's tennis team won six Pennsylvania Athletic Conference titles this past weekend at the West End racquet and fitness club in Allentown, Pa. The Cavaliers took all three doubles titles and captured three single titles as well. Senior Carolyn Wilson, junior Christine Telling and freshman Megan Simmons were the three that acquired the single titles while also earning all-conference first team honors.

Lady Cavs win 6th straight match

The Cabrini Women's Volleyball team clinched the No. 3 seed for the playoffs with their victory over Immaculata University on Saturday, Oct. 20. The Cavaliers swept the Mighty Macs here at Cabrini in three matches with scores of 30-13, 30-23 and 30-8. This win brings their conference record to 7-2 and an overall record of 16-7.

Rotan leads Cavs in points

Cabrini soccer player Joe Rotan earned the honor of being named PAC player of the week on Oct. 1 and then proceeded to be named a member of the D3Kicks.com team of the week the very next day. The senior sociology/criminal justice major grew up in Philadelphia and has been playing soccer for the past 17 years.

Cavs aim for PAC playoffs

The Cabrini men's soccer team improved their Pennsylvania Athletic Conference record to 5-0 when they defeated Marywood University 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 6, in Scranton. With the win, they bump their overall record to 13-1. Cabrini started the scoring in the 23rd minute mark when senior forward Mike McDevitt found senior Joe Rotan on a long throw-in across the 6-yard box.

Cavs winning streak continues

The Cabrini Men's soccer team continued their streak of success this past Saturday, Sept. 29, when they defeated Waynesburg 4-0 on their home field. The non-conference win raised their overall record to 11-1. The Cavaliers came out and dominated early but did not score until about fifteen minutes into the game.

Athletes unaware of the dangers of heat stroke

Anywhere from 370 to 400 Americans die each year from hyperthermia. This is a fact that is guaranteed not to be known by many students at Cabrini College. This is a possible result of the effect of heat stroke. Even though students probably don't realize it, they should know that heat stroke can be fatal.

Bottles harm environment

Every time you pick up a bottle of water to drink, you probably don't realize you're contributing to one of the 30 million bottles a day that has to be tossed out and then recycled. This process of recycling all those glass and plastic bottles takes up tons of gallons of oil and gasoline to ship them to the recycling plants.
