Cavalier fans celebrate Midnight Madness

Midnight Madness amplified the excitement of the pre-Halloween weekend on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Dixon Center echoed with crowds of screaming students and pop music blaring. Walking into the entrance students were greeted with rally towels, compliments of the college radio station, WYBF The Burn.

Choosing Division III sports for the love of game, not money

The amount of students who play sports at Cabrini is 30 percent and rising. Choosing Cabrini as a college purely based on academics is not something students are doing anymore.

Women’s tennis pumped for PAC finals

The Cabrini women's tennis team are the reigning champions of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference by winning against Marywood on October 19. A 6-3 win boosted the team into winning the PAC championships for a second year in a row. Many of the players agreed that Marywood was their biggest competition.

Winter track prepares for intense, rebuilding season

Executing drills on the second floor hallway of the Dixon Center does not stop the winter track team from competing against some Division I schools. Although the winter track season has not started yet, the track team has already started training, and because of the absence of a track, they are forced to practice in a hallway.

Freshman volleyball player stoked

Meet freshman exercise science and health promotion major Lindsay Martin, the new addition to the Cabrini women's volleyball team. Coming from Torrance, Calif., Martin decided Cabrini College was the best school for her. "I wanted a small Catholic College on the East Coast and Cabrini was it," Martin said.

The women's volleyball team, with a 6-1 record this season, has their eyes set on a bright future. The players are looking forward to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. Not losing any seniors from last year, in addition to gaining new freshmen, has put the players in a position to start the season off strong.

MtvU invades Penn’s Landing

MtvU is hosting its first ever Campus Invasion Music Festival, which includes 6-hour concerts in some of the largest college cities in America. One of them is in Philadelphia's Penn's Landing on Sunday, April 29 at 3:30 p.m. The Campus Invasion Music Festival is an extension of mtvU's Campus Invasion Tour which has brought up-and-coming artists to college students for the past 10 years.

‘Children of Men’ proves to be a well-made dissapointment

Now on DVD, "Children of Men" is a movie best viewed on DVD rather than in the theater because of the needless unanswered questions and a somewhat disappointing ending. The film is one of great detail and work, but the plot leaves many hanging on for more.

Racism, discrimination still prevalent

Racism still corrupts our nation to this day. It was over 140 years ago when the Civil War ended slavery and we thought that our nation was going to be somewhat moral and balanced with the acceptance of a different race. What comes as a slap in the face is the realization that we were wrong.

The hotly debated topic of the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars was focused recently on how much it will cost to treat veterans wounded in service over their lifetimes. A Harvard research study calculated the future cost to be between $300 billion and $600 billion, depending on how long these wars last.

The former Playmate, Guess model and reality star known as Anna Nicole Smith, 39, mysteriously died on Feb. 8. Smith was notorious for being famous for well, being famous. Many didn't know Smith by her real name Vickie Lynn Hogan, but instead knew her as the outrageous personality with the goofy child-like voice.

Well, if you are thinking that it may change their mind you should think again. Should you really have to pretend that you enjoy their company when in reality you cannot stand the sight of that person? You only hang out with them because it's the only way to see your friend.
