If the New England Patriots are the evil empire of football, than consider Mr. Bill Belichick Darth Vader. It seems as though New England head coach Bill Belichick is out to prove something to the rest of the National Football League: That his Patriots can win without cheating, mercilessly.

Lady Cavs battle tie in PAC action

The women's soccer team battled Alvernia College to a 3-3 tie in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 17. The game was the Cavalier's last on the home field for the season and the last home game of senior Corinne Szymczak's college career.

To some, intramural sports are a joke. To me, it's a second chance. I'll probably never get to play for the men's soccer team because I feel I blew that chance my freshman year. I came in with an injury and did not last long in tryouts. It was over for me in less than a week and just like that, I was looking to spend the next four years soccer less.

When asked about shin splints, athletes of all ages may not know exactly what causes them, but most know of the pain they cause. "I simply couldn't run," Diipali Figgles, a freshman political science major, said. Figgles runs leisurely in her free time. "It got to the point where my coach told me not to practice so I could play in games," Anna Scholl, a junior English and communications major and member of the women's lacrosse team, said.

Roller hockey gears up for anticipated season

The Cabrini roller hockey team is gearing up for its 2007 season. With eight returning players, they look to greatly improve on last year's mark of 8-6-1-1. "I didn't know we actually had a roller hockey team at Cabrini," Angela Lindle, a freshman exercise science major, said.

Field hockey records second win

They went from a team without a win, to a team on a two game winning streak. Field hockey's strong first half led to their second consecutive win of the season in a thrilling, yet hard-fought victory against Arcadia University on Sept. 29, winning 4-3. A warm, yet breezy afternoon set the stage for Saturday's game on Cabrini's home field, as Fall Fest weekend kicked off.
