‘Kid Nation’: fend for yourselves

Most children would get scared, cry for their parents and become helpless if left alone for a long period of time, right? Wrong. "Kid Nation" is a new reality show that is much like the predecessors of shows like "Survivor" and "Shipwrecked" but unlike the other two shows, this show is about kids fending for themselves.

Roberts finishes collegiate cross country career

Carolyn Roberts does not know the phrase "I can't do it." The senior cross country distance runner has run through a lot of obstacles with and without her team. Roberts has two heart conditions that impair her running ability but does not stop her passion for cross country.

Lady Cavs bump to 15-7 overall

The Rosemont Ramblers volleyball team did not live up to their name when they faced the Cabrini Cavaliers on Oct. 8, 2007. The Ramblers stood quietly in awe as they watched the opposing team deliver each ball back with a message. "By giving good passes and digging the ball we were able to run our offense and have fun," sophomore exercise science major Traci Beltz said.

50 cent vs. Kanye West

New York rapper 50 cent and the windy city's rapper Kanye West did not have beef but had one of the most anticipated feuds of rap. Both rappers dropped their albums on the same day, Sept. 11. 50 cent stated that if Kanye West's album "Graduation" sold more than his album "Curtis" that he would stop making solo projects and would only rap on featured tracks.

Young field hockey teams aims for first season win

The women's field hockey team remains winless as they are 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference after falling to Alvernia College and Eastern University. On Saturday, Sept. 15 the team traveled to Alvernia where freshman goalkeeper Caitlin Donahue stopped 10 of the 24 shots on goal by Alvernia.

Ollinger promoted to Lightcap’s assistant

Nancy Ollinger has been promoted to the assistant to the vice president of finance and administration, Stephen Lightcap. Lightcap is in charge of many important services like public safety, facilities, the dinning hall and the school's budget. Ollinger assists Lightcap with managing up his schedule and setting up meetings.

Musical talent thrives on campus

Whether you're into rock, hard-core, pop punk, emo, indie, experimental or rap, Cabrini has many bands all around campus that will fit your genre of music. Music is not just sounds made from instruments and vocals, it's a way of life. Mike Miller, a freshman English and communication major, is a DJ that goes by the name of DJ Intake.
