Foul odor invades bath

Since when does water smell like rotten eggs? Apparently it does since I moved into House 3. Can you imagine trying to brush your teeth with your minty fresh toothpaste and gagging, not because of the toothbrush in the back of your mouth, but because the water smells so bad? I never had problems with dry skin, but here, I find myself moisturizing several times a day.

Dorm destruction getting expensive

The third floor window in the New Residence Hall looks more like a spider-web than a view beyond the concrete walls. Destruction campus-wide has resulted in the shattered trust of residents. Harold Holden, director of facilities, makes it clear that the problem begins with the students.

Outreaching beyond Cabrini

Believe it or not, there are many opportunities to give a piece of yourself to the community. Cabrini offers a great way through the program known as Outreach Saturday. Outreach Saturday allows students to come out for half of the day and do something that makes the world a better place.

Get in the mix

Have you ever dreamed of making your own music video? Well, if you attended the Involvement Fair on Tuesday, Jan. 28, you had your chance. There was quite a large turnout at the fair, which was a new idea from student development. It offered a way to see the various clubs that Cabrini has to offer, to get familiar with community outreach, campus ministry, the new rugby team and even things the alumni association is doing, and to have fun at the same time.

Flakey internet hampers students

I find it unbelievably frustrating when I am trying to write a research paper using the Internet, and all of a sudden- BOOM! The server goes down. This is not just something that happens once in a while. No, no. it happens at least twice a week, and Instant Messenger kicks me off everyday.

Burnin’ up the air-waves

The disc jockeys at Cabrini's radio station, WYBF FM, The Burn, find being a DJ a wonderful experience. Many have their own shows and find it a thrill. Sophomore Craig Vagell began working for WYBF his freshman year, but before he had his own slot he was told that he had to take a test and go through a six-week training session.

Dirty school concerns faculty

Faculty members are upset about how dirty the college is, especially Founder's Hall. The faculty is bothered by the dirtiness of the bathrooms, the blackboards, the trashcans and the desks. According to John Heiberger, professor of business administration, "Many times the toilets are broken in Founder's Hall, and the housekeepers cover them with plastic bags and they are then inoperable for several days.

Rape underreported on college campuses

Government grant aids SEPCHE schools

Cabrini students will soon see new courses on global issues as a result of a $750,000 government grant awarded to eight local colleges. College costs lightened by financial aid

Cabrini has been awarded the W.W. Smith Charitable Trust Award, which is an endowed scholarship. Donors gave Cabrini $65,000 to award to students who live in the Delaware Valley. There is no specific grade point average prerequisite, but students do have to be in good standing with the college.

Digital atmosphere requires adjustment

Since schools are requiring the use of the Internet, students have to adjust to a more digital atmosphere. Used by students as a primary reference source and for daily communication, the unreliability of the campus network has students frustrated. "I get aggravated when the server goes down because I use the Internet to get all the news in the world such as sports and business.
