On Tuesday, Nov. 18 Todd Alsup's hypnotizing voice filled Jazzmans Café. His music transformed the usual dining place into a getaway. Alsup is a singer, songwriter and pianist. Alsup is from New York City and has been endorsed by Yamaha. He has been featured in Billboard Magazine and has been compared to popular artists such as John Legend and Ben Folds.

Steel City Coffee Shop offers open mic nights for beginners

Every Tuesday night at Steel City Coffee House, Jonathan Eirich hosts an acoustic open mic night. This is a free event, students are able to sign up to perform or they can simply sit back and enjoy. Steel City Coffee House offers two nights of open mic every week.

Tobacco should butt out of campuses

Students are smoking and chewing tobacco all over the world. I personally think it's outrageous, especially chewing tobacco. Snuff is another form of tobacco; it is finely ground tobacco that when in dry form, is sniffed up the nose. Chewing tobacco is use of smokeless tobacco which causes cancer in humans.

Recession forces students to work while attending school

The effects of the recession are taking a toll on students and will soon affect their work ethic. This current problem that our economy is facing has changed the lives of many people, especially students who are now forced to take on a job along with their daily education.
