Lady Cavs’ 6-game win streak snapped

The Cavaliers saw their 6-game win streak come to a streaking halt when they were handed a 62-36 loss by the Alvernia Crusaders on Monday night. Alvernia's defense held the Cavaliers to their second lowest point total of the season. The loss brings the Cavaliers record down to 13-8 with four games remaining in the season.

Cabrini basketball dominates the court

Senior point guard Deana DiAmico scored her 1,000th collegiate career point Monday night against Rutgers-Camden University. DiAmico is the first 1,000-point scorer for women's basketball team since Erin Crawford accomplished the feat during the 2001-02 season.

Noyes brings inspiration to graduate students

Since the age of 14, Dr. David Noyes knew he wanted to teach and have a life in education. From that time Noyes has experienced a lot and worked very hard to inspire his students. Noyes joined Cabrini College in August. Before that time he was happily retired, working on his mountain house while fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Powermat charges technology with all-in-one device

There is a lot of buzz around the new Powermat that hit electronic stores across the country this month. Many people have seen the catchy commercials on TV, advertising this new innovative device. For those of you who don't know what the Powermat is, it's a new invention that can charge cell phones, iPods and other household electronics without any cords.

Senior English and communication major Sabina DeGisi has become a household name around Cabrini's campus and other Colonial States Athletic Conference schools during her four years at Cabrini. Students around campus may know her for being nice, studious and friendly, but the opposing soccer teams within the CSAC see her as a forward who is hard to stop.

Volleyball victory improves overall team record 17-6

The women's volleyball team defeated both William Patterson University and the hosting Centenary Cyclones 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 10. The two wins improved the teams record to 17-6 overall and 7-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. By beating Centenary 3-0 the Cavaliers strengthened their stranglehold on first place in the CSAC conference.

How safe are college campuses?

Since the murder of 24-year-old Yale student Annie Le, some students have begun to question their own safety on campus. Police found Le's body stuffed into a utility compartment behind a wall in the research building where she worked on Yale's campus. Police charged 24-year-old Raymond Clark III with Le's murder after his hair, fingernail and saliva samples matched him with the evidence at the crime scene.

Women’s soccer loses to postseason foe

The lady Cavaliers lost to Marywood 4-2 on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Edith Robb Dixon Field. Cabrini failed to get revenge on the team who ended their season last year in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs, which ended in penalty kicks. "Going into this game was an unexplainable feeling because, as Ken reminded us several times, 'they shattered our dreams last season' and there is no way they are a better team than us.

Iverson signs with Memphis Grizzles Former Philadelphia 76er Allen Iverson will now be joining the Memphis Grizzlies. The current free agent wrote on his twitter account on Wednesday that, "God chose Memphis as the place I will Continue my career." Iverson averaged a career low in points last year by posting 17.
