Real Life Romance: Part One

Gordon William Allport said, "Love received and love given comprise the best form of therapy." This statement can be held somewhat true to many, but to sophomore couple Andrew Smith and Patrice Doyle, its realism. The two met as freshmen, both living in New Residence Hall.

Toy drive benefits CHOP

This year Amy Wildey and her college success class hope to brighten the Christmas of the children hospitalized at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by distributing toys. They have been collecting new, unwrapped toys from our campus community. CHOP was the first hospital in the nation to open its doors with the purpose of devoting its services exclusively to the care of children in 1855.

Selling Cabrini; Masters program commercials hit television

Confucius said, "I hear and I forget - I see and I remember - I experience and I understand." This year, Cabrini's Graduate and Professional Studies department introduced a new means of advertising the school's Masters Program through television commercials.

Educating the heart with Karen Bonin

Edmund Evertt Hale said, "I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." Each year more than four million Americans need blood transfusions. On Monday, Nov. 3, about 50 members of the Cabrini community came out to help the cause and donate their blood to the American Red Cross at Cabrini's bi-annual blood drive. The collected blood, like most received at drives, will go to hospitals in need of blood transfusions for trauma victims, heart surgeries, organ transplants, and patients receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer, sickel-cell anemia and other diseases.

The big transition

A day in the life of an athlete: wake up, go to class, go to practice or possibly a game, eat dinner with the team, do homework, and then finally go to sleep, only to wake up the next day and do it all over again. So why would someone want to have that kind of grueling and repetitive schedule each day? "Well, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't have it any other way," freshman soccer player Christine Watson said.

Cross country looking for recognition

Already halfway through its season, Cabrini's cross country team is looking ahead not only to competing in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, but also to finally being recognized by the school that they compete for. "We don't have a cross country team...do we?" freshman Jessica Baliski said.

Field hockey 2-5

With the field hockey season under way, the 2003 Lady Cavs have begun the fight for starting positions on the field, and a winning season in the books. Despite the dissatisfaction of having lost it's first Pennsylvania Athletic Conference game (6-2) versus the College Misericordia, junior Megan Reich believes that the team still had a good game.
