The Roxxy

Offering the best-of-Philly club life to the underage crowd every Friday, The Roxxy is the place to be for those 17 and older to kick off any weekend. The party is sure to be crazy with Q102 DJs playing in house every Friday night. The Roxxy, which boasts two levels, four rooms and a capacity of roughly 2000, has played host to such celebrity guests as: Flo-Rida, Asher Roth and Angelina from Jersey Shore. Located at 939 N. Shampoo

The largest nightclub in Philadelphia, Shampoo offers a party experience like no other. Housed inside a massive multi-level warehouse, Shampoo has multiple rooms with multiple themes and activities (such as an occasional in house graffiti artist) to go along with the dance floors and music. Shampoo is open Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and hosts both 17+ and 21+ events, so check their website, Shampooonline.com, for event calendars detailing when the club is open to the 17+ crowd. Club 27

Club 27, unlike many other clubs, offers patrons three levels of partying, each with a very distinct flavor. The first floor houses a sports bar and martini lounge, complete with 12 foot by 8 foot television. Ascend to the second floor and patrons will find themselves in the center of a fairly standard dance club floor featuring live DJs spinning a variety of music (House to Hip Hop). The third floor houses the VIP section and lounge, and sports a fenced-in catwalk overlooking the dance floor below. Fluid Nightclub

For those looking for a club experience off the trodden path, the Fluid Nightclub beckons. Located in a relatively secluded area, and offering a wide variety of music (from electronica to funk to punk rock) Fluid Nightclub is the perfect out of the way spot for the music and party lover. Fluid has been open since 1997 and having played host to such acts as Jazzy Jeff and ?uestlove. Having a large stable of house DJs and continuing to bring in special guests on a weekly basis, Fluid maintains a spot of relevance in the Philadelphia club scene. Pod

Located in University City, Pod offers patrons with a mix of Asian Fusion food, modernized-retro design and a trippy light show to set the atmosphere. Pod, whose design was influenced by futuristic movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, offers moderately priced dishes, ranging generally for $11 to $32 (for entrée dishes) to enjoy in addition to the design and atmosphere. Distrito

Inspired by the feel and food of Mexico City, Distrito offers guests with Mexican food and an modern, energetic atmosphere. Conceptualized by chef Jose Garces who is behind several other Mexian cuisine restaurants in the Philadelphia are, Distrito gives guests a modern take on traditional Mexican foods and features a wall made entirely of colorful “lucha libre” masks and a booth crafted from an old Volkswagen. Silk City

Offering a classic diner style look and atmosphere with decidedly not-quite-diner food, Silk City is what happens when a French-trained chef runs the kitchen at a remodeled diner. The menu runs the gamut from classic sandwiches and burgers, to Orecchiette Pasta and St. Louis style ribs. And there is a small stage for the occasional live jazz music performance.  Price on sandwiches and entrees ranges from $9 to $17, dress is casual and only walk ins are accepted.
