If you are looking to explore Bucks County, you can do so with Visit Bucks County, a new app available for the iPhone. For the first-time visitor, it is sure to be of great use in getting around and enjoying the historic and scenic area.

Greeting you upon opening the app are images of Bucks County, including stores, inns, dining, entertainment and recreation.  It’s a nice visual hint at what to expect as you explore with the user-friendly app.  A summary of the area’s rich history is provided in “About Bucks County” and with many historic sites nearby, this is a great way to start your visit.

Open up “Explore Bucks County” and you will find numerous listings for you to shop, eat and get a good night’s sleep.  Further listings on visitor centers and services provide the first-timer to Bucks County with in-depth resources.  Click the camera icon labeled “Play” and many attractions are listed that will make for a memorable visit.  There’s something for everyone: history buffs, nature lovers, sports fans, movie and music afficianados and more.

Check out the calendar of events and what’s nearby to time your excursion with festivals or tours.  Click on the map button above the listings of what’s nearby to get a sense of the proximity among the area sites.

The app also features the latest Bucks County info via Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare.  Tell family and friends about your experience with “Share My Trip.”  Add the places you like the most to “My Favorites” as a quick reference to spots you want to revisit.

Paul Bencivengo, marketing and communications director for Visit Bucks County said via email that the app is currently available on Blackberry and Android.

“It’s a great resource for locals and visitors that don’t have a Destination Guide or computer handy,” Bencivengo said.

Whether or not you have been to Bucks County, this app will help to fill your time with great experiences.
